I
am so proud of my country right now! I'm
glad everyone got out and voted and now
we're headed in a better direction. I was
speechless when they announced that Barack
Obama was the next president of the United
States. I had been hesitating to vote
because I felt like my vote wouldn't count.
But, I got up early on election day, voted
and it was worth it. I'm apart of history.
His speech was great and his family was
beautiful! I just felt so proud.
We are 6-3 now which is pretty good. My team
is playing good basketball and I'm learning
a lot. I've been practicing hard, so when I
have to step up I'll be ready. My website is
finally up and running! Check it out when
you have some free time at
www.acielaw4.com.
October 28, 2008:
The
season opener is tomorrow versus Orlando and
I feel good about it. We bring it back home
Saturday where we host Philadelphia and I
expect for the fans to come out to support.
I had a lot of fun this weekend. We had a
"paint the town" event near downtown and I
was bagging groceries and other products at
Target. It was actually pretty fun. I'm
eager to vote when I get back home, it's
getting close and I'm getting excited! I
believe TAMU and UK begin play soon and I
want to wish them both luck. I'm so relieved
that the Cowboys won Sunday! We had a rough
patch, but we'll be back Sunday. I still
think we have a chance.
October 21, 2008:
We
just got back from Charlotte with a win and
we're getting ready for Orlando tonight. So
far we've been doing pretty good, hopefully
we can keep it up. The regular season starts
next week and I can't wait. I think we can
do big things this season.
I recently registered to vote for the first
time. Like many others, I'm looking forward
to change. That's also something right
around the corner that I'm looking forward
to. The next few months are kind of a big
deal to me, I'm expecting a lot of special
things. My website will be up soon and when
it is I will post the url address so you
guys can visit me. I've gotta get ready for
practice so I'll talk to you guys later.
Thanks.
October 7, 2008:
Training
camp is all over, and it was tough. Overall,
I think I did well. We're in Orlando now
because we play them tonight in the first
preseason game then we travel to Phoenix for
Wednesday's game. I have confidence that we
will win tonight and we can win the rest of
the games this week too. Our team is ready.
Everybody looked good in training camp so
we've got a real shot. I've been trying to
get lots of rest lately because my body has
been tired from training camp, but the
soreness is going away and I'm close to 100%
now. I don't think these preseason games
will be on TV but if you want you can follow
them online.
There should be a link to connect to it from
our website

September 29, 2008:
Media
day is today which means it's almost time.
Training camp is from Tuesday until Saturday
and our first game is Monday, October 6.
It's our preseason opener. We go to Orlando
and play them at 7pm eastern time, and it
goes on from there. I have to admit, I had
fun during the offseason, but I'm ready to
get started. I'm excited about the season
because I think it's gonna be a big one.
We're ready. All of us. We've worked hard
and we had a little taste of the playoffs
last season, there's no turning back now.
I'm spent late Sunday watching the game
between the Cowboys and the Redskins. It was
very good game. I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboy
fan so the game kept me on the edge of my
seat, but unfortunately Washington
prevailed. Despite the loss I still predict
the Cowboys will play in the Super Bowl this
season and they will win. We'll see how it
goes.
September 23, 2008:
So,
I'm back in Atlanta with the team. I had fun
this summer but I really missed my
teammates. Everybody is looking good so far.
I know once the season starts we will be
great. I've been practicing a lot on my shot
and I'm getting better. I will be shooting a
lot more this season because that's the
biggest thing I worked during the off
season. Training camp is around the corner
so I'm getting myself prepared for that. It
should be a little better, since I've
already been through it before. Last season
I didn't know what to expect so at least
this time nothing will come as a shock
(hopefully).
I've been having work done on my house and
its finally done. I am very impressed. I'm
almost completely done furnishing it too, so
that's a relief. It's been a long time
coming, but finally, we're almost there. I
didn't hire a decorator, so it makes me feel
proud to see how beautiful everything is. I
remember when I first moved in and it was
empty. I thought I would never fill it up,
but now it looks and feels like a home. I'm
happy to come home and be in for the night
after morning practice. Life has been good
to me lately, I don't have any complaints
right now and hopefully I can keep it that
way.
September 4, 2008:
It's
been awhile, but finally I'm back with great
news. I just got my place in Dallas and I'm
very excited about having a home in my
hometown. I'm still trying to get it
together, but it's coming along. I've been
having lots of fun in Dallas working out and
coming home instead of to a hotel. I love my
new place! I'm ecstatic that Josh Smith will
still be my teammate next year! He's a
really big part of our team and I'm happy
that he will be returning. We have a few
more players that have joined our roster,
all of which I am anxious to play with. I'm
looking forward to this season, I think it
will be a special one. I've been working on
getting better over the past few months and
I guarantee I will be ready this season. We
will be ready this season. Everybody has
been working hard this summer and it will
show throughout the season.
July 14, 2008:
I'm
in Miami right now for Alonzo Mourning's
summer groove. I brought a couple of my
friends with me and we've been living it up.
I really like Miami! It's beautiful. I'm not
really participating in any of the
activities, but it was a good excuse to come
back to Miami and party with my friends.
Summer league starts next week and it's in
Utah again. I'm not sure how many games
we'll be playing but we'll be there for a
week. We start practice on Monday and we're
going twice a day. I'm excited about
practicing with the team because it lets me
know it's almost time to play. Hopefully
we'll leave Utah with all W's under our
belt. I'll let you know how it turns out.
June 26, 2008:
I'm
in Dallas working my basketball camp and
I've been having a lot of fun. The kids are
so full of energy! They're pretty good, too.
They break into groups and play each other
for awhile and they're very competitive. I'm
thinking about having an all-star game at
the end of the camp and doing something
special for the winner, but I'm not sure
yet. It's definitely better than I had
imagined and I'm looking forward to doing
another camp in the future.
Before coming to Dallas, I went to Miami for
a Converse photo shoot. Miami is beautiful.
I've been there so many times, but I've
never seen the city. I still haven't toured
the city how I would like to, but I got a
chance to see a little more. Converse has a
ton of new looks. I really enjoyed seeing
all the new sportswear and breaking in some
of the new shoes. I think it's gonna be a
big year for Converse.
June 16, 2008:
I'm
in College Station now for a basketball camp
at Texas A&M University. I'll be here until
Sunday and I'm actually excited about it. I
haven't been to College Station since "Acie
Law" day and I miss the city.
My camp, Court of Law Basketball Camp, kicks
off June 23-27 in Dallas at Kimball High
School. It's for boys and girls ages 8-16,
so it should be pretty entertaining. I plan
to play around with them a little and have a
little fun.
I'm still working out everyday trying to
stay healthy. I got a chance to formally
meet our new GM Rick Sund and he's a very
nice guy. I think we will work well
together.
June 5, 2008:
My
basketball camp starts later this month in
Dallas, so I've been preparing for that. Not
much else has changed...I'm still working
out everyday trying to get better. Rick Sund
is our new GM and he's said nice things
about me. I'm anxious to meet him and see
how our team responds. I've heard great
things about him, also, so I expect that we
will grow as a team.
I've been keeping up with the playoffs and
it's been fun to watch. I love this time of
year because the level of competition
elevates. Everyone is at their best and it
just comes down to who wants it the most.
Celtics versus Lakers is going to be a great
series and I'm looking forward to watching.
May 26, 2008:
I
recently traveled to Paris, France with my
fiancé and it was amazing. The shopping was
great, the food was good and architecture
was like no other. I visited the Louvre
which is the museum that houses the Mona
Lisa and it was an experience. I didn't get
a chance to see everything because the
museum is huge. I was there for about two
hours and I hadn't even walked half way
through it. The Eiffel Tower was the most
beautiful thing I've ever seen. I actually
saw it from the airplane shortly before
landing. I went on the Seine River cruise
which took us through all of the quarters
and past the Notre Dame cathedral. I really
enjoyed Paris, it was very historic.
I've been doing strength and conditioning
for a week now and I can already see a
difference. I'm actually having a lot of fun
lifting and I wouldn't mind putting on a few
pounds. More than likely I will be working
out very hard throughout the summer and by
the time summer league comes around I should
be ready to go. I'm not sure where summer
league will be this year, but I plan on
making a big impact wherever I am. We should
have a pretty good summer league team this
year and I can very easily see us making a
run with all of the experience that we have.
May 9, 2008:
The
season is over and I’m proud of my team. We
didn’t win the series, but we did more than
most people expected from us. The Celtics
are an excellent team and I wish them well
in the future.
I can’t wait to go back home to Dallas. I
haven’t been since the game versus the
Mavericks and I miss it. I’ll be traveling
all over to work out this summer, so that I
can come back strong next season.
I hope to get more opportunities to show my
strengths next season and help my team get
even further in the playoffs…
but first, I’m going on vacation.
I recently proposed to my girlfriend of four
years and she accepted. We haven’t made any
further plans as of yet.
April 26, 2008:
We
got our first playoff win last night and it
was so great! All of our fans came out and
showed support and it really helped us
deliver. It feels good to be home after
being on the road for five days and eating
fast food every day. I enjoyed my time
there, but there's no place like home. I got
a chance to play a little more in game two
and I think I did pretty good. I made a few
mistakes, but I feel like I can make up for
them the next time I get an opportunity to
play. There's nothing like playing in the
postseason. The fans are different, the team
is different and it seems like everything is
at a heightened state. Playing in Boston was
an experience. Looking at all of the
championship banners hanging from the
ceiling made me feel honored. It's
legendary. Hopefully we can pull off a few
more wins to advance to the next round.
Nobody really expects us to, but anything is
possible.
I want to say congratulations Martellus
Bennett for getting drafted by the Cowboys
last night. I wish you well and I'm looking
forward to seeing you at the Super Bowl with
the Dallas Cowboys next year.
March 12, 2008:
I’m
finally healthy! After a couple of weeks
out, I returned Saturday, March 8 for the
game against Miami. It was a pretty exciting
night. If you didn’t hear, we got two wins
in one night…we had to play the last 52
seconds from a game earlier in the season,
due to a mistake by the scoring table, plus
the original game scheduled for March 8. It
was great!
Now I’m just focused on staying healthy and
finishing strong so that my team may have a
chance to be a contender in the playoffs.
Right now we’re in ninth place in the East,
and we need to be at least the eighth-ranked
team in order to compete.
I think we can do it.
I’m really happy for Coach G and his win
against Florida. I got a chance to catch the
game before I left for Orlando today. I
think that Coach G and his staff can do a
lot of big things for Kentucky, as they did
for TAMU. It’ll be exciting to see how far
they go in the tournament.
I’m also very proud of my former teammates
at TAMU who are seniors this year. I had a
blast playing with them and I’m happy for
all of the success they have achieved in
their four years and I wish them success in
years to come. I’m grateful for having the
opportunity to know and play with all of
those guys and I love them all like
brothers.
As far as my personal life, I’ve been trying
to do what I can to help the community in my
spare time. Recently, my teammate Mario West
and myself threw a pizza party for some
children at a local hospital. It was
amazing! The kids made us feel so good. They
were so full of energy and positivity that,
for a second, I lost site of the fact that
we were in a hospital. I would like to do
more things like that. It was very touching
and I had a ton of fun. We took pictures and
played around with the kids, so it is
definitely something I will never forget.
February 27, 2008:
I
recently returned to Texas A&M for Acie Law
day. I feel honored, not only have my jersey
retired, but to be the first athlete in the
school’s history to ever do so. There have
been many great athletes that have come out
of Texas A&M including a Heisman award
winner in John David Crowe. Everyone came
out to support me and it felt really good.
This is something that I am extremely proud
of, I consider myself blessed.
I think the trade worked out good for the
team. We acquired Mike Bibby for four
players and a second round draft pick. I’ve
already learned a lot from Bibby. I think in
the long run, he will help me become a
better player. The team should benefit a
great deal with him running the show because
he has so much experience. With us being so
young, this trade can give us the strength
we need to be a force in the East.
February 3, 2008:
Hello
everyone, I’d like to welcome you to my blog.
I recently celebrated my 23rd birthday on
January 25th. At the time, we were on the
west coast swing so I was in Seattle, WA. We
played the Seattle Supersonics that night
and that had to be my worst game of the
season, fortunately we finished with a
victory.
Other than basketball, I’m a huge Dallas
Cowboys fan. I was very disappointed when we
lost to the Giants, who are now representing
the NFC in the super bowl. Surprisingly, I
am now rooting for them to win the Super
Bowl. I am actually a fan of New England,
too, but I like to see the underdogs
succeed. I’m having a small get-together at
my new house in Atlanta to watch the game,
hopefully it’s a good one.
Congrats to my former teammates at Texas A&M
University for the huge win over TU. They
have been struggling a little lately, but
it’s all coming together for them. I truly
believe they have the talent to go further
in the tournament than last year.
